P.E.A.C.E

Afghanistan, a country ravaged by 3 decades of war the very basic idea of peace is greeted and is welcomed by the people. After the continuous years of destructive war among the government of Afghanistan and the Taliban, and historic cease fire took place among both parties in June 2018, showed that there is enthusiasm in the leadership of Taliban for peace talks and peace process.

Since late 2018 the Afghan government, supported by its international partners, has tried to reintegrate the peace talks intra Afghan government and the Taliban, the peace process was followed by so many peace talks between the Afghan government, Taliban and the international committees. And as the peace talks process, the hope for a peaceful Afghanistan is increasing. Since early 2019 the intra-Afghan Peace talks has enabled both parties (The Afghan government and the Taliban’s) to express their needs form the international communities and form each other. The process of the peace talks requires participation of youth because Afghanistan’s next generation of leaders have an opportunity to break out of the cycles of violence that have caused civil wars, insurgencies, and widespread human rights abuses and domestic violence over the past decades. To enable youth be a part of the peace talks and the peace process and reconciliation process we are planning to implement the P.E.A.C.E project (Peacebuilders Engagement to Act for Conflict-resolution and Equality) trainings in Kabul. P.E.A.C.E was a 3 days trainings for around 25 young leaders, civil society activists and community leaders, to support youth’s involvement in the peace and reconciliation process. Through project P.E.A.C.E we aim to provide youth with a strong insight of peace and the possibilities of peaceful society. We want youth to be a part of the historic peace talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban. In the 3 days of P.E.A.C.E we provided trainings, workshops and roundtable discussions for the participants to increase their knowledge and insight of the peace process.
